Dr. Daryus Blackburn of Accident & Injury Chiropractic

Dr. Daryus Blackburn, D.C.

“My mission is to help those who have suffered a traumatic injury, such as a car crash, to recover and then educate them on how to stay at an optimal functional level of health. I help by using chiropractic to reduce pain and restore function to their spine and extremities.  In addition to utilizing passive therapy to help reduce pain and decrease swelling, I also have my patients go through active physical rehabilitation exercises to help stabilize and strengthen the possibly permanently weakened areas of their spine and extremities. All these components are vital in helping people recover from traumatic events and other physical trauma they have endured.  My goal is to walk hand in hand with my patients through every step of the healing process to assure them they are not alone in their care.  Lastly, I stress the importance of education on what they can do in their daily lives to assist and maintain their healthy lifestyle.” Dr. Daryus Blackburn, D.C.

Dr. Daryus Blackburn, D.C. was born in Sacramento, California but was raised in Arlington, Texas from the time he was 2. He always had an affinity for science, math, and the creative arts. In high school he was involved in band as well as HOSA, Health Occupations Students of America. He knew he wanted to be some type of doctor, but he was not sure which kind. His older brother happened to get into chiropractic through his own journey while Daryus was in high school as well. Daryus and his youngest sister (who was about 3yo) started to get adjusted by their older brother to help him with his clinic numbers in grad school. Not only did Daryus feel so much better after getting adjusted, he witnessed his sister, who was born with bad asthma, get better within a month. She went from needing frequent breathing treatments to none in a short amount of time. That is when he solidified the thought of becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic. He was passionate about seeing people get better in their health without drugs or surgery.

After high school he attended the University of North Texas where he received his Bachelor of Arts and Science with a major in biology and minor in chemistry. From there he wanted to explore new territories, so he decided to go to Life Chiropractic College-West in Hayward, California. That is where he received his Doctorate in Chiropractic. He was involved in many clubs to get as many tools as possible to help with his future patients. He did a preceptorship at a pediatric clinic and loved taking care of the babies and kids. Once he graduated, he decided he missed Texas, and he moved to San Antonio to accept a position as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

In this position he saw almost 1000 people in just his first month. He knew it was a busy clinic, so his goal was to perfect his adjustments. After 2 years of serving his community in San Antonio, he decided he missed DFW and moved back in 2021. He served at this position for another year and had an urge to learn about personal injury. (His current practice was a cash-based practice that focused on wellness.) That is when he was introduced to Accident and Injury Chiropractic. He is excited to serve the community in a totally different capacity and learn new skills with different modes of therapy, while also offering chiropractic to help people.

I loved how the staff takes time to listen and hear my concerns.
Very positive atmosphere from staff and location.
