The fair offers a variety of goods and services free to needy Dallas students from pre-K through 12th grade to help them return to school ready and equipped for a successful academic year. And some free goods and services are provided for their families as well. The list of offerings includes:

…and more!

To qualify to be one of the 15,000 students to receive free school supplies, students must attend a Dallas ISD school or live in the City of Dallas and meet the 1018 Federal Poverty Guidelines. Eligible families are encouraged to pre-register online by June 30th or in person at one of the many pre-registration events offered throughout Dallas in July. Families may also register at the fair on August 3rd, but those who pre-register will save time and be guaranteed receipt of school supplies at the fair. Please note, the person who pre-registers is not required to attend the fair. In fact, those who qualify and register will receive a voucher that can be sent with anyone to pick up the school supplies. While children are encouraged to come and enjoy the fair and take advantage of the many services available, their attendance is not required for them to receive their free school supplies.

For more information on the Mayor’s Back to School Fair, how to qualify for the free school supplies, and how and where to pre-register, call 311 or go to www.mayorsbacktoschoolfair.com.
